There is still time to register for the 2018 MWA Coaches Clinic and Hall of Fame Banquet on November 2-3.  The value for coaches attending the clinic is second-to-none, regardless of tenure or experience level.

Andy Simmons has taken over as lead clinician for the technique portion.  Simmons, who was a four-time undefeated state champion in Michigan and later a two-time NCAA All-American for Michigan State, has resurfaced on the senior level.  "The Comeback Kid" was 3rd at the US Open this year and a World Team Trials qualifier.  He will be sharing his knowledge in what will likely be a can't-miss opportunity.

In addition to Simmons, breakout sessions will be led by coaches across the state.  These individuals will be passing along their processes and experiences in the hopes of bettering all programs in attendance.  Presenters include Mitch Hancock, RJ Boudro, Tim Roberts, Scott Marry, Jerry Lajoie, Bubba Gritter, Steve Delaney, Bill Polk, and Brad Anderson.

The Hall of Fame Banquet is also taking place Saturday evening.  There, four individuals will be honored for their lifetime of service to wrestling, as well as the Assistant Coaches of the Year, AD of the Year, Volunteers of the Year, Officials of the Year, and Media Person of the Year.

Additional sessions for CPR/AED certification and the MHSAA rules meeting are also included in the weekend events.

It is important to note that this event is not exclusive to high school head coaches only.  All coaches are welcome, including MYWA coaches.

Discounts for additional coaches will be applied as well:
- $125 for the 1st and/or 2nd coach
- $25 Staff Discount for the 3rd coach
- $50 Staff Discount for the 4th coach or more

You can register online at https://www.michigangrappler.com/mwa or by mail.  For all additional questions, please email Chris Dunham at cdunham@lakeviewspartans.org.
