Check back to see some of the big names who are registering early for the 2014 Grappler Fall Classic!

Cadet Freestyle and Folkstyle National Champ Paul Konrath of Indiana is the most recent hammer to register for the GFC.  Konrath is currently ranked #4 in the country at 106lbs.

Ohio State Runner-Up Jack Harris of Urbana High School, ranked #14 in the country at 195lbs by the AWP, is now registered for the Grappler Fall Classic at 189lbs!  Harris was a FILA Cadet All-American last Spring and is a former Fargo Cadet Freestyle National Runner-Up. He is the #52 junior in the country according the AWP Class of 2016 Grade Level Rankings.

The Sooner State is coming to the GFC as Double Cadet All-American Billy Simpson of Cushing, OK is registered at 98lbs.  Simpson, an incoming freshman in Oklahoma, was 3rd in Cadet Freestyle last summer in Fargo and 7th in Greco-Roman.

Billy's brother Kaiser Simpson is registered as well in the Elementary 60lb division.  Kaiser is an Oklahoma Youth State Placer.

Division 3 State Champion Foster Karmon of Grand Rapids CC High School is coming back to Get Some at the GFC.  Karmon was a 2011 GFC Champ as an 8th grader when he won the 98lb title.  He is the #8 junior in the state of Michigan and is registered at 145lbs.

2x GFC Finalist and returning GFC Champ Louie Hayes is coming back to defend his title!  Hayes is one of the top little guys in the country, having won the Folkstyle Nationals and Fargo Freestyle Nationals in the past.  He won the 98lb GFC title last year in dominant fashion.

Hayes' brothers Rocco and Samuel, who are two of the best youth wrestlers in the country, are registered as well in the Elementary Division at 50 & 60lbs!

Franco Valdes, a 2x FL State Champ from Miami Southwest High School, is coming to Get Some at 130lbs.  Valdes was runner-up at the 2013 NHSCA Freshman Nationals and is also a Disney Duals All-American.

Smith is a 2x Division 2 State Champion for Clio HS and is also proven on the national scene.  He is a past Freakshow Champion, 2x GFC placer and was runner-up at the 2012 GFC at 105lbs.

Parker is a 2x MI State Placer finishing 2nd and 3rd as a freshman and sophomore for powerhouse St Johns High School.  He earned all-american honors this past off-season at the Cadet Freestyle Nationals and the FILA Cadet Freestyle Nationals.  He was runner-up at the GFC last year and is a past MS GFC Champ.  Parker currently ranks #10 in the country at 113lbs by the Associated Wrestling Press.

Ben Freeman, Michigan's top sophomore, is coming back for another shot at a GFC title.  Freeman, who won the Division 1 State Title at 103 as a freshman last year for Walled Lake Central HS, also finished National Runner-Up at the FILA Cadet Nationals and Cadet Freestyle Nationals in Fargo.  

He was also 3rd at the Cadet Greco Nationals and won the USAW Cadet Folkstyle National Title last Spring in Iowa.  This will be Freeman's 4th GFC and while he has finished top 4 every time, he is yet to win the title, so he is back for another shot to Get Some!  Freeman ranks #12 nationally at 113lbs and is the #17 overall Sophomore in the land according the Associated Wrestling Press.

A pair of Florida youth state champs registered in the Elementary Division.  Nick Bouzakis is in it at 70lbs while brother Vince registered at 55lbs.  Both are accomplished on the national stage and primed to Get Some at the GFC!

The 119lb weight class just got even tougher as Doyle Trout, arguably the top pound for pound wrestler from the State of Nebraska, is now registered.  Trout is a 3x Nebraska State Champ who also finished 5th in Fargo in the Junior Freestyle 120lb bracket and won the Junior Folkstyle National title last spring.  

He is currently ranked #16 in the country at 120lbs and is the #81 recruit in the nation from the Class of 2015.

Gilcher is one of the best elementary wrestlers in the state from the renowned Team Donahoe club.  He is a 3x MYWAY State Champ and has also placed top three at the Tulsa Nationals twice, won the FloNationals, and won the TOC.  His older brother Derek, a former NUWAY National Champ as well, is registered at 85lbs in the MS Division.

One of the best up-and-coming lightweights in the state of Michigan, Bettich has wrestled and placed in just about every big time tournament across the country.  He is a past MYWAY State Champ, TOC Champ, and NUWAY Champ, and now he will look to add GFC Champ to the resume - Get Some!

Cameron Sykora will look to win his 5th Minnesota state championship this Spring, but first he is coming to #GetSome at the GFC!  Sykora won the 2nd Annual Grappler Fall Classic back in 2011 and now he is making a comeback for the 5th GFC.  Sykora, ranked #18 in the country at 120lbs, is registered at 119lbs and is the 5th wrestler to register at 119 who is ranked nationally by the AWP (Sykora, Gomez, L.Hall, Williams, Mackall).

Davenport won the GFC back in 2011 in the Elementary Division and is now looking to win the other two divisions in the same day as he double entered in the Middle School 100lb and High School 98lb division.  He is one of the top 8th graders in the state having won the GFC, TOC, NUWAY Nationals, Liberty Nationals, and MYWAY States in the past.

3x State Placer and 2013 State Champ Benny Gomez of Holt, Michigan is coming back for another shot at the GFC Title after finishing 3rd at 112 last year.  Gomez comes in off the heels of a breakout performance at the Junior Nationals in Fargo, where he earned all-american honors in both freestyle and greco at 113lbs.  He is currently ranked #20 in the country at 113lbs by the Associated Wrestling Press.

Florida State Champ Joseph Silva of Lake Highland Prep, Florida is registered at 112lbs in the High School Division.  Silva is a returning NHSCA All-American.

Two of Michigan's most accomplished youth wrestlers recently signed up for the Grappler Fall Classic as 2013 Wrestler of The Year Dominick Lomazzo and 2011 Wrestler of The Year Andrew Hughes both signed on to Get Some.

Lomazzo is the returning GFC Champ and Elementary Division Outstanding Wrestler, he has also won the Ohio TOC, Liberty Nationals, and NUWAY Nationals.  Lomazzo is registered in the Elementary 80lb division.

Hughes has won multiple MYWAY State Titles and won the 2011 Michigan Grappler Fab 50 to earn Youth Wrestler of The Year.  The 7th grader from Grand Ledge is registered in the Middle School 80lb division.

Nick Williams is the 2nd Iowa State Champ from Lisbon HS signed up for the GFC.  Williams was the 120lb State Champion last season.

Yet another State Champ is registered at 125lbs as 2x MI State Champ Champ Logan Griffin of Erie Mason HS is coming to Get Some.  Griffin was 4th at the FloNationals last year.

Aaron Kilburn of Michigan powerhouse program Richmond High School is registered for the GFC at 125lbs.  Kilburn is the returning Division 3 State Champ and finished 3rd in the state two years ago.

2x Iowa State Champ Carter Happel of Lisbon, Iowa is coming to Get Some at the 2014 GFC!  Happel, who won the 2014 FILA Cadet Freestyle National Title to earn a spot on the FILA Cadet World Team, is registered at 135lbs.  

Happel also won the 2013 Cadet Freestyle National Title in Fargo.  He is currently ranked #7 in the country at 132lbs and is ranked as the #17 pound for pound junior in the country according to the Associated Wrestling Press.

Returning Division 2 State Champion Austin Thompson of Marysville, Michigan is registered at 140lbs for the GFC.  Thompson, a 2x State Placer, had a strong off-season that included falling a match shy of placing in Fargo.

Who's gonna take on the champ?  Returning Grappler Fall Classic Champion Kanen Storr rolled through a loaded 112lb bracket in last year's GFC and this year he is back at 125lbs.  Storr is ranked as the #49 junior in the country, and ranked #20 in the land at 120lbs according to the Associated Wrestling Press.  The 2x State Finalist and 2013 State Champ is coming in fresh off a breakout performance in Fargo where he finished 4th at 120lbs in Cadet Freestyle.

Another State Champ is signed up to #GetSome at 140lbs as Austin Melton of Dewitt, MI, a returning Division 2 State Champion, registered today!

Luke Ready of Brighton, MI is fresh off a double All-American showing in Fargo last summer, including a Runner-Up Finish in Cadet Freestyle, and now he is coming to Get Some at the Grappler Fall Classic.  

Ready, who was 4th in the Division 1 State Meet last year as a Sophomore at 189lbs, and currently ranks #75 pound-for-pound among all the juniors in the country according to the AWP, is registered at 215 for the GFC.

2013 GFC Champ Caleb Smith is coming back to #GETSOME and add another GFC stop sign to his trophy case.  Smith, a senior at Lake Gibson High School, was State Runner-Up in Florida last year and won the 2013 GFC title at 105lbs, defeating 2x MI State Champ Mason Smith in the finals.

The contingent of Florida standouts coming to the GFC continue with returning FHSAA State Runner-Up Elijah Cleary of Lake Highland Prep.  Cleary was a 4th at the NHSCA Sophomore Nationals last spring and 8th at the 2013 GFC.

Ohio's reigning Division 1 State Champion Alex Mackall of Welsh Jesuit High School is the most recent of three nationally ranked wrestlers to enter the GFC 119lb weight class!

Mackall is ranked #15 in the country according to the Associated Wrestling Press' recent National Rankings at 120lbs and joins #5 ranked Kris Williams of IL and Lucas Hall of MI (#9 @ 113) in the 119lb bracket for the #GFC2014

Lucas Hall first catapulted himself into the national spotlight two years ago when he went from being the #8 seed to winning the 98lb title with wins over Fargo All-Americans Louie Hayes, Ben Freeman, and Dalton Roberts along the way.

After repeating last year with the 105lb title, Hall is coming back for a shot at becoming the 3rd ever 3x GFC High School Champion.  The State Champ, FloNational All-American, and Freak Show All-American, ranked #9 in the country at 113lbs by the AWP, is registered at 119!

Indiana State Champ Tommy Cash is the most recent among a string of all-state wrestlers from outside the Michigan state lines to register for the 2014 GFC.  Cash, who won the single division Indiana State Championship last year as a sophomore, was also 5th at FloNationals last year and 3rd at the GFC a year ago.

2x IN State Placer Cael McCormick of Yorktown HS is also registered in the 140lb bracket.

A strong contingent of Middle School & Elementary standouts from Top Dog Wrestling Club who were all top 4 in the MYWAY State Tournament last year and are all proven on the national stage, have recently registered for the GFC.

FloNational Runner-Up Cameron Amine (110), NUWAY National Runner-Up Rhett Newton (100), and 4x GFC Champ Easton Turner (HWT) are all signed up in the Middle School Division while NUWAY National Champ Quaylon Newton is registered at 70lbs in the Elementary Division.

Petrone is a reigning State Champion and 4x Florida State Placer for Lake Highland Prep High School and now he is looking to become a GFC Champion!

2x Florida State Champ & NHSCA All-American Jake Brindley of Lake Highland Prep, Florida is registered at 125lbs for the Grappler Fall Classic! Brindley is one of a handful of recent big-name grapplers to register early from the Sunshine State.  

Other notables include 2x State Runner-Up Adam Lewis of Tampa Jesuit HS at 140lbs, State Runner-Up Sa'derien Perry of Lake Gibson HS at at 130lbs, and Bryce Rogers of Lake Highland Prep at 140lbs who was 4th in the FHSAA State Meet last year.

Florida is in the mix in Elementary Division as well as youth hammer Christian Fretwell of Brandon, FL is registered in the Elementary division at 50lbs!

Zac Carson of Uniontown Lake High School is coming back to #GETSOME at the 2014 GFC after finishing 4th last year at 145lbs.  Carson has been top 3 in Ohio's Division 1 State Tournament the last two years finishing 3rd and 2nd in the state.  He is also a FloNational All-American

Registration for the 5th Annual Grappler Fall Classic is just a few days in and already a Top 5 nationally ranked wrestler is in the mix!  Kris Williams of Thornwood High School, a 3x Illinois 3A State Champion ranked #3 in the country at 120lbs by FloWrestling, is registered at 119lbs!

2x State Champ Jacob Cooper of Springport, MI is registered for his 3rd straight Grappler Fall Classic!  Cooper was runner-up last year in a loaded 189lb bracket and is back for a shot at his first GFC title!  Cooper had a strong off-season, placing 5th at FloNationals, going 9-1 at Disney Duals, and 6-1 at the Grand River Rumble with a win over nationally ranked Blake Rypel of Indiana.

The opening weekend of GFC registration saw a wave of All-State wrestlers signing up!  

2x MI State Placer and returning GFC Runner-Up Matt Santos is signed up at 130lbs and Florida State Runner-Up Ethan Owen is registered at 135lbs.

Michigan State Placers also signed up are Matt Gudenau & Connor McDill at 140lbs, along with Ohio State Placer Andrew McNally at 171lbs.
